Many of the areas you are visiting are still in the development stage of tourism, locals will look up to you as a gauge. If you show a good example—by respecting their culture, environment and community, it will encourage the locals to develop their areas in a sustainable manner. Haphazard development has been the norm in Philippine Tourism, let’s stop it now.
Products, services, souvenirs or guides – the more the local economy depends on visitors, the more important it is that you support it.
Don’t talk politics or religion. Be sensitive to the local culture by wearing clothing that is accepted.
