FAQ’s

  1. What does Cultureight Travel offer?
  2. Cultureight Travel offers Eco-Cultural Philippine Island Experiences through small-group adventures including expeditions, mini-expeditions, weekenders, cultural training and special events.

    ADVENTURES

Our adventures range from a weekend trip to a fully loaded expedition to the exotic areas of the Philippines. It’s guided and structured like a tour without all the rigidity. We stay at small, family run venues and meet tribal elders, eat at the village market and relax in white sand beaches with a small group of like- minded individuals.

    CULTURAL TRAINING

If you would like to learn more about the Philippines, we have highly customized programs on Philippine culture. The difference between us and the rest is that our classes are out in the field. We have beach-front programs and jungle trekking programs that everyone will enjoy at the same price as a classroom program. Recommended for individuals and families that relocate to the Philippines.

    TRAVEL EVENTS

From team building exercises in a rain forest setting, to a 19th century Illustrado dining experience, we can prepare it all for you. Hosting a convention? No problem, we can help you plan from start to finish and add that special cultural twist.

  17. What ages are allowed to join your trips?
  18. Our trips are open to all age groups. Minors though need to present a signed waiver from their parents.

  19. Do you require medical certificate?
  20. Once you book, you need to fill out the Medical Information under the CLIENT INFORMATION form which will tell us about your physical and mental health. Due to the risk that comes with our tours, certain individuals should not participate. For more on this, please see Booking Conditions.

  21. Do I need any shots or anything before I go?
  22. Please consult with your doctor for any vaccinations or medications to be taken before or on the trip.

  23. Do I need to be super fit or have previous travel experience?
  24. Our tours have a moderate amount of walking/hiking/rafting/swimming—about 2-3 hours on some days. You don’t have to be a marathon runner or an Olympic swimmer, but as long as you can hold your own for a few hours, then you will be fine.

  25. How many people do you take on your trips?
  26. Our maximum number of individuals in a group is 12. How can you really experience an isolated island with a bus-load of people?

  27. What nationalities do you take and what type of people join?
  28. Everyone is welcome to join Cultureight Travel’s trips. If you’re interested in places that are not normally visited and would like to see the “authentic” Philippines, this is the tour for you.

  29. What vehicles do you use on your trips?
  30. You can bet that we won’t put you on a chartered private bus, it’s expels extra carbon the world does not need, and you won’t get to meet the locals. On our expeditions, you will find yourself on top of a jeepney, inside a tricycle, and on a banca. When we visit more remote areas, we hire private vehicles for your safety, but if we can get there through walking, we would rather have you experience the trek.

  31. Do I need insurance?
  32. Travel Insurance is a must for our tours and need to be purchased before final payment. Please choose travel insurance that will cover cancellation, medical expenses and emergency repatriation. Please make sure to keep a copy of your travel insurance with you at all times.

  33. Should I bring my own water?
  34. We all carry our own luggage. You are your own porter. Bottled water are available in most places we will go to, but you are free to bring your own of course.

  35. How much cash should I bring?
  36. A hundred US dollars spent in the Philippines in one day is equivalent to luxurious living. Ok, I may be over exaggerating, but note the exchange rate. There are numerous money changers available, as well as international banks you can get money from. So budget is really dependent on you.

  37. Is there anything shocking that I should be aware of?
  38. Our tours are for people that would like different. You will visit cultural areas where folks might not do the same things you’re used to. Bathrooms are always different in this part of the world, so expect some cold water and buckets. Transportation will be an adventure, no seatbelts here. This is all part of your “authentic” experience and will make the trip all the more memorable.

  39. Why should I go with Cultureight Travel?
  40. Before the start of each tour, we will teach you the basics of green tourism: how to offset your carbon emissions, how to help preserve local culture, how to properly dispose of your waste during the trip etc. We feel that if there is anything that you will learn from this trip, it is how to preserve the places and communities you visited for other to enjoy in the future.
